This 2.01 ct D, VS2 Old Mine Cushion has the generous outline and broad, unhurried facet pattern sought in a fine antique cushion. Its shape, depth and hand-cut facet layout determine how it returns light.
Its D colour places it at the top of the colourless scale, allowing the facet pattern and crystal to be read without body colour. The VS2 clarity grade should be judged face-up and in motion; our close views show the stone as it is seen, rather than reducing it to a line on a report. The recorded strong fluorescence is a material part of the stone’s character and should be considered through direct viewing in varied light.
